This online 10-hour Introduction to Event Planning series is a fun and easy way to understand the basics of planning a variety of events. In this simulated project management course, students will learn the fundamental elements to pulling off a spectacular event!

 

Description

This online 10-hour Introduction to Event Planning series is a fun and easy way to understand the basics of planning a variety of events. In this simulated project management course, students will learn the fundamental elements to pulling off a spectacular event! You will:

  •  meet your “client”
  • learn how to connect with vendors
  • create timelines
  • review budgets
  • design a vision board

At the end of this series each student must present their hypothetical event as per the client profiles for critique. It is your job to create the best event possible as per the client’s interests while staying within budget.

Day One (5pm – 7pm): Introductions & Expectations; Event Planning Checklist & Sales

Day Two (5pm – 7pm): Budgets; Evaluating Vendors

Day Three (5pm – 7pm): Event Timelines; Style & Design; Presentation Tools

Day Four (5pm – 7pm): Discussion with Claudia Hanlin; Office Hours

Day Five (5pm – 7pm): Discussion with Claudia Hanlin; Student Presentations
